The veteran Durban radio producer found himself in hot water over an "insensitive" Facebook post commenting on the death of two cyclists at the weekend.
In a statement ECR said: “In light of the insensitive and offensive comments made by contractor, Kevin Minter-Brown, on his personal Facebook page following the tragic deaths of two cyclists on the M4 Ruth First Highway on February 7 2016, East Coast Radio has taken the decision to terminate Minter-Brown’s contract with immediate effect.“This is a difficult time for the family and friends of cyclists, Jared Dwyer and Richard da Silva, and East Coast Radio would like to humbly apologise for Minter-Brown’s callous remarks.”The East Coast Radio jock and Sunday Tribune columnist posted a comment in jest on Monday, suggesting that a running club be started on the N3, after it emerged that cycling on the M4, the scene of the weekend tragedy, was in fact illegal.
